Retrofit of pneumatic actuators with an electric linear actuator for gas flow control

This Rotork CVL5000 - part of the CVA range - controls the gas flow on an installation in Belgium.

This retrofit project replaced the old gas controlled pneumatic actuator with a 100% modulation electric linear actuator from Rotork. The CVA range is 10 times more accurate than previous actuator, giving a regulation precision of 0.1%. It is also failsafe through its super capacitors on board. When power is lost the CVL can be programmed to go to a failsafe position (stayput, close, open or an intermediate position). Thrust output 22.000N, manual override and Bluetooth connectivity for full commissioning and diagnostics.
